BACKING FOR WELL-KNOWN BRIGG FIRM'S PROPOSED DISTRIBUTION SITE
Plans by well-known Brigg company Thomas Bell & Sons to develop a site for storage and distribution on the Atherton Way business park is being supported by the Town Council.
Thomas Bell & Sons Ltd, of Bigby Road, Brigg, is seeking approval for land to the south of Europa Way.
It is requesting North Lincolnshire Council to grant planning permission for erection of a warehouse with office, messroom and toilet facilities, car & lorry parking.
Thomas Bell also plans to retain perimeter palisade fencing and gates, and install a new road crossing.
Consulted on the application, Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee decided to give its support.
Thomas Bell is looking to develop "a vacant plot set within a recognised industrial estate inside the establishment development boundary of Brigg."
It is planned to use the site for making deliveries to customers by lorry.
The company has an operator's licence for 16 HGVs.
Thomas Bell Country Store, off Bigby Road, offers "everything for the horse & rider, pet lover, country enthusiast and more."
North Lincolnshire Council planners will now decide whether to grant permission.
An interesting feature article tracing the history of the Thomas Bell company from the 1870s to the present day can be read in the latest issue of Brigg Matters Magazine.
