BRIGG GREEN'S LONG TERM FUTURE SECURED
The lengthy but necessary legal and administrative process required for Brigg Town Council to take over management of the Millennium Green between Elwes Street and the River Ancholme is now almost complete.
This was a notable Year 2000 project, originally overseen by a trust.
North Lincolnshire Council and the Town Council have been working together to secure the long term future of the facility with its grassy areas, seating and litter bins.
Coun Carl Sherwood told the Town Council's latest meeting in the Angel Suite that a working party of councillors should now be formed to move things on.
He said a number of residents had been asking about progress.
Coun Carl, pictured during his year as Brigg Town Mayor, also holds cabinet rank within North Lincolnshire Council.
Once the Town Council takes on the Green, Brigg Blog expects it to consider additional features that might be installed. But that will be a matter for the New Year.
We will report details as they become clearer.
