A pub/restaurant visited by many Brigg people on a regular basis over the years has reopened.
And tomorrow (Sunday, November 12) it will be re-launching the popular carvery, operating from noon.
The Black Horse, on Melton Road, Wrawby, has been closed for some months but it now under new management, we are pleased to report.
It reopened last night (Friday). Bookings can be made by calling 07749 319464.
We visited the other pub in Wrawby, the Jolly Miller, for a Sunday carvery a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
So now, once again, there's a choice on offer to drinkers and diners within the village.
With so many hostelries closing across the UK, it's good to see that Wrawby still has two.
Meanwhile, in Brigg, we plan to visit the Lord Nelson tonight.
Richard Smith, head chef at the Jolly Miller for some time, and son Jordan, are taking charge, following the retirement of Jim Swanson, 70.
Tomorrow, Remembance Sunday, the Nelthorpe Arms, on Bridge Street, Brigg, will be offering a free drink to former and serving members of the Forces, as will the Britannia Inn, on Wrawby Street.
Drivers should remember tomorrow that a road closure will be in place either side of the noon wreath-laying ceremony. This will affect traffic near the Monument on the A18 (Barnard Avenue and Wrawby Road) and also the A1084, Bigby Road.
The Black Horse at Wrawby has now reopened to diners and drinkers. |
