LATEST MONTHLY BRIGG CRIME FIGURES REVEALED


Brigg Blog has received the latest monthly crime figures for the town, released to us through www.police.uk
The statistics are for September 2017 and show a sizeable month-on-month reduction in overall crime.
There were 47 crimes reported to the police in September, compared to 66 during August.
Crimes are measured within a one-mile radius of Brigg town centre.
Here is the breakdown for September 2017 in the various categories used by Humberside Police.
It's heartening to note that in six of the 14 categories, including drugs and possession of weapons, not a single crime was reported during the month.

  • Shoplifting 6
  • Other theft 2

By way of comparison with the 47 crimes reported during September 2017, here are figures for the same month in recent years:
  • September 2016 - 35 crimes
  • September 2015 - 29 crimes
The September 2017 crimes included 16 in the town centre - six of which were shoplifting.
There were eight further crimes on the Springbank housing estate and three on Waters Edge (just over the border in Broughton parish).

Across the entire Brigg & Wolds Ward area, which stretches to South Ferriby, there were 62 crimes during September, including seven in Barnetby and four each in Wrawby and Horkstow.
