BRIGG COUNCILLOR RECEIVES HIS MBE

Many congratulations to Brigg councillor Rob Waltham who went down to London to be awarded his MBE by the Queen.
He is the leader of North Lincolnshire Council and was made a Member of the British Empire in June's honours list for services to local government.
Coun Rob, who grew up in Hawthorn Avenue, is also a member of Brigg Town Council.
Sister Sharon is currently the Brigg Town Mayor.
Their dad - known to his many mates at Brigg Servicemen's Club, including us, as Wally - was a notable pigeon club member.
Rob rubbed shoulders with some famous folk before and after meeting Her Majesty.
Joseph J Magrath - long-serving clerk and chief officer at Brigg Urban District Council and Brigg Town Council - received the OBE (Order of the British Empire) many years ago.
In more recent times, Brian Taylor - long-serving governor of Sir John Nelthorpe School and charity fundraiser - received the MBE.
