BRIGG TOWN FC BEATEN BUT THERE'S ANOTHER THREE-FIGURE CROWD AT THE HAWTHORNS

Brigg Town FC lost their 'six-pointer' to another of the lowly teams,  Nostell Miners Welfare, at the Hawthorns yesterday (Saturday, November 11).
The result leaves Brigg some distance adrift at the foot of the Tool Station Northern Counties East First Division table.
The Zebras are three points behind Retford and six below Nostell who are third from bottom.
Ryan Thompson put Brigg ahead early in the second half but Nostell came back strongly to take all three points.
The crowd was 126 - lower than might have been expected.
Brigg-based Briggensians were without a game in the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League yesterday.
But in the Johnsons Transport Ironstone Cup  first round, Barnetby United Reserves lost 4-0 at home to Limestone Rangers Reserves.
In Division One, Barnetby United lost 6-1 at Crowle Town Colts, Joe Scott scoring for the villagers.
Barnetby remain at the foot of the table -  without a point after four fixtures.
This coming Saturday (November 18) Briggensians will host Limestone Rangers Reserves in a Tortank Barton Brotherhood Cup quarter-final (1.30pm KO).
In Division Two, Barnetby United Reserves will entertain A.F.C. Queensway at Silver Street (2pm).
