BRIGG LANDLADY GOES FROM ICE-CUBES TO GLACIERS

PICTURE, REPORT & HEADLINE BY KEN HARRISON, BRIGG MATTERS MAGAZINE

While most of us during the next few weeks will  survive the hum-drums of life, with a sprinkling, perhaps, of a Sunday roast somewhere, a visit to friends and relations, or a trip to a garden centre, the mine-host of the Yarborough Hunt in Bridge Street, Lucy Fensome, starts her first stage of an adventure tomorrow, Tuesday.
Dynamic Lucy flies to the Himalayas to trek to the Everest base-camp. According to Lucy the climb to the camp will take 7 days, which will allow her time  to acclimatise  to height and the progressively reducing oxygen levels... and five days on the return.
Lucy is raising sponsorship for the Macmillan Appeal and sponsor forms are still available at the bar in the niche Yarborough pub.
During her spare time, Lucy is the prime-mover in  organising the spectacular and ever-increasing popular Brigg's Bike Night. This event will be held Friday, 7th July.
Lucy indicates that the 2017 Bike Night will be bigger and more successful than ever and will extend from Bridge Street to the Market Place.
Good luck to Lucy on both accounts....and knowing Lucy's determination, it's not impossible for her to bring back photographic evidence of the existence of the mysterious Everest Yeti!
