PLATFORM TO DISCUSS BRIGG AS AN HISTORIC ANGLING VENUE

A welcome new addition to the Old River Ancholme in Brigg is this angling platform.
An Environment Agency sign on the structure calls it the Glanford Bridge Angling Platform.
The wooden  perch is near the  Ancholme Way flyover,  carrying the A18.
Brigg has been a renowned angling venue for centuries and there used to be special trains to bringing fishermen from Yorkshire towns and cities into town to enjoy the fresh air and tranquility of the riverbanks.
