WEEKEND EVENTS ATTRACT CROWDS IN BRIGG TOWN CENTRE

It was good to see two major spectator events drawing people into Brigg town centre over the weekend.
Saturday, May 20 saw Brigg Town Business Partnership's colourful Blessing of the Pumps when the surviving Victorian cast iron communal water providers near the Nelthorpe Arms and Wetherspoon's White Horse pub were garlanded with flowers.
Sunday saw vehicles taking part in the TSW Printers Border Classic Touring Car Assembly 2017 line up in the Market Place to depart from 10am - at one-minute intervals - and head off over the County Bridge and down Bridge Street to the A18.
A good many open-topped sports cars had wicker picnic baskets aboard, the weather being nice and sunny.
The Cafe Courtyard eatery was open for business and we noted spectators paying  a visit.
Congratulations to Border Motor Club Lincs for staging this popular annual event.
Had we not decided to scrap our faithful Peugeot 306 it would have been eligible to take part in next year's event!
