Our thanks to Ken Harrison, of the Brigg Matters community newsletter, for these pictures which includes the very interesting one above.
The ice cream cart carries the name of a Doncaster firm. It used to be common to see ices sold in this way - decades ago.
How many people who attended yesterday's Brigg Fair had enjoyed an ice cream sold in this way when they were children?
We think a Mr Pieroni, from Scawby, used to cycle round the Brigg district selling ices many years ago.
If so, perhaps Cliff Turner, now 91, who follows our Blog down-under in New Zealand, will be able to confirm this.
Maybe it came a little after Cliff's boyhood in the 1930s.
