LAST CHANCE TO COMMENT ON PLANS FOR NEW BRIGG AREA STORE

Today is the deadline for public comments to be submitted on plans to build a new store in the Brigg area.
Lincolnshire Co-operative is seeking planning approval from North Lincolnshire Council for a single-storey neighbourhood food store, the creation of a new vehicular and pedestrian access, car parking, external plant equipment, landscaping and associated works on land off West Street, Scawby.
Scawby Parish Council has lodged an objection and is requesting planners to reject the application.
The parish council is concerned about traffic generation and highway safety.
The Co-op's application reveals that 15 full-time jobs will be created by building the store.
It says there  is a need for a neighbourhood foodstore in Scawby and the application site "is the only suitable and available site within the defined settlement to accommodate this need."
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering the application.
