BRIGG TOWN CRICKETERS STAY TOP

Brigg Town Cricket Club won again yesterday and have a useful lead at the top of Lincolnshire County Cricket League division four (sponsored by Readers) with only a few weeks remaining of  the season.
However, Brigg's latest win was of the "walkover" variety, as scheduled opponents Caistor 3rds were unable to raise a team.
Under league rules, and in terms of points gained, this counts as a victory for Town.
Brigg Town currently top the table with 221pts, ahead of Lindum 3rds (Lincoln) on 212pts and Marshalls (Gainsborough) 202pts - all from 14 fixtures, with four still to play.
On Saturday (August 20) Brigg will visit Barton Town 2nds, who play on the excellent Marsh Lane ground (1pm start).
