PLEASE REPORT ANY INFORMATION YOU HAVE ABOUT FLY-TIPPING NEAR BRIGG RAILWAY STATION

As Deputy Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Councillor Rob Waltham, of Brigg, has responded to complaints from a rail campaigner about the untidy state of land near the station, which was visible to passengers using the line on Saturday.
Coun Waltham says: "“North Lincolnshire Council is doing everything it can to keep the area around Station Road as clean as possible.
"We should be clear this is not a massive issue; there are isolated incidents which we address on each occasion.
"However, there should be consequences for anyone who incurs local taxpayers an unnecessary cost, so if you have information on fly-tipping please email environmental.health@northlincs.gov.uk or call 01724 297000.
"The council has a strong track record in securing convictions and any information is important.
“Last week we announced a multi-million pound regeneration scheme which includes investment in a new Stennetts market and 40 homes for older residents and a new landscaped pathway towards the station.
"This, we believe, will address these issues around the Station Road site and also maintain our commitment to invest in Brigg and to ensure that the town continues to be a successful place to live, work and visit.”
Paul Johnson, a campaigner for the Brigg line, arrived at the station on the first train from Sheffield early on Saturday morning.
He said  passengers were still able to view an obscene word painted on the back of the market building "three weeks after the first report to remove it."
There had been a mountain of flytipping, included a sofa and household items, and he suggested that a formal complaint would be made to the council.
