TRIBUTE TO FORMER BRIGG ROGER STREATFIELD WHO HAS DIED IN AUSTRALIA

Former Brigg resident, Roger Streatfield, has been tragically killed in a motorcycle accident near his home in Northam, Western Australia.
Born and raised in Brigg, Roger was a qualified fitter and turner, learning his skills and trade on Scunthorpe steelworks, before running a taxi business in Brigg along with his wife Linda. He was also a member of Brigg Fire Brigade for some time.
Roger married Linda (nee Robinson) on March 18th 1972.  Linda being the daughter of Councillor & Mrs Eric Robinson. Eric was Brigg Mayor during the 1970s. 
Roger, Linda and their two children, Neil and Joanne, emigrated to Western Australia in the early 1980s.
Roger had retired from the workforce and was heavily into his hobby of wood turning and it was returning home from a weekly meeting of wood turners, when he was involved in an accident with a pickup / utility on the Toodyay to Northam Road at Katrine.  
Roger was killed instantly and was farewelled with both a service in his home town of Northam, as well as in Perth, where he had many friends. 
Many of his fellow motorcycle riders forming a Guard of Honour at his funeral.
