The events are being organised by Lindsey Draper and Lisa Anderson (Isaac’s Mum) to support The Children’s Hospital Charity (Sheffield Children’s Hospital). The day promises to provide lots of fun and entertainment for the family including a raffle, craft stalls, refreshments, penalty shoot out, face painting, balloon modelling, bouncy castle, inflatable slide, treasure trail, martial arts display, Princess Parties putting on a Disney “Frozen” show. Theo the Bear from the charity will make an appearance and South Humberside Community Radio will also be there on the day providing music and compering the event.
Isaac sadly passed away from a genetic condition aged just 19 days old last year at Sheffield Children’s hospital following his transfer there from Scunthorpe hospital at 4 days old. Inspired by his bravery, his parents Lisa and Paul Anderson who live in Scunthorpe have been fundraising for the Children’s Hospital Charity with the help of their family and friends in his memory to help other children since September 2013.
Lisa and Paul have set a fundraising target on their www.justgiving.com/isaacjames of £19,000 and to date have raised £9,800 through various activities including Lisa running the Sheffield Half Marathon on 6th April.
All money raised from the events on 26th May will go directly to Isaac’s memorial fund within the Children’s Hospital Charity which benefits the Intensive Care Unit, Medical research and Genetics departments.
Lisa and Paul said: “The 19 days we spent with Isaac, although not nearly long enough, will forever be treasured memories. Isaac has made a huge difference to our lives and we want to ensure his memory is a positive one by giving back to the hospital that did so much for our family”.
