A NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN FOR BRIGG - DEMOCRACY AT WORK

FROM COUN THE REV ALEC DEPLEDGE

It's time to come forward and get involved in creating this most important policy document for Brigg - a document that must reflect the opinion of Brigg residents, otherwise it will fall at the final stage!
Stage 1 - at the Angel Suite on Thursday 3rd April either between 2pm-3.30pm or, in the evening between 7pm-8.30pm - a practical session to 'Map the Town' and get the ball rolling.
The Plan will consider and incorporate a diverse range of issues, so you can cherry pick where your interest lies and focus on the areas that ignite your enthusiasm; e.g. Heritage, Conservation, Environment, River, Traffic, Public Transport, Townscape, Leisure and Recreation, and yes - Planning and Development.
All these issues (and more) will be included during the public consultation process, then written into a document reflecting the opinion of Brigg residents - to re-iterate, the fact is, if it doesn't do so, it cannot become policy, because the final stage involves a referendum of Brigg residents.
Once adopted into planning law, Brigg Neighbourhood Plan has to be taken into consideration by the District Authority. It will also provide valuable evidence in support of funding bids to improve the Town's assets and facilities. SO, PLEASE COME ALONG AND GET INVOLVED.
IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THE SESSIONS ON THE 3rd APRIL, BUT STILL WOULD LIKE TO BE INVOLVED, PLEASE E.MAIL YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO: enquiries@briggmarkettown.co.uk
