Modern jive - described as the fastest growing dance sensation - is coming to Brigg on the first Friday of every month, courtesy of the Le Roc Club. Launch night will be Friday, August 2 at the Vale Academy, 7.30pm to 12pm. Entry is £6 and the beginners' lesson will be followed by social dancing "to try out the moves you have learnt."
The organisers stress you do not need a partner and say this is great exercises and suitable for all ages and ability. On offer is "a complete night out."

The organisers' publicity does not state which of the Vale Academy sites will be used but we reckon it's more likely to be the main one, off Grammar School Road. If not, nip down to Redcombe Lane.
