ARE THERE ANY WILLING 'RACE GREETERS' IN BRIGG AREA?

Market Rasen Racecourse tells Brigg Blog it is looking for six ‘race-greeters’ who will follow in the footsteps of the Games-makers who were such a triumph at last year’s London Olympics.
They will help to guide visitors at the racecourse on Ladies’ Day on Saturday 20 July, so an outgoing personality and a basic knowledge of racing are being sought in applicants.
In return, the six will each receive three complimentary County Enclosure tickets for the day.
So, in return for some advance preparation and a few hours of time on 20 July, six people can each enjoy having tickets worth £66 and bring two family or friends to the races free of charge!
Pip Kirkby (pictured), the racecourse’s general manager, said: “We get many ‘occasional’ race-goers on our annual Ladies’ Day in July which is often the most popular fixture of the year.
“The Games-makers at the Olympics were a great success, so we are seeking to achieve similar results here at Market Rasen Racecourse.”
Applicants should call the racecourse on 01673 843434 or email pip.kirkby@thejockeyclub.co.uk
Ladies’ Day combines wonderful fashions and top-notch horse racing.  The races are worth well over £100,000 in prize-money - with the Betfred Summer Plate and Summer Hurdle always attracting some of the best summer jumping horses in Britain.  The afternoon includes fashion shows and best dressed prizes.
On-the-day prices on Saturday 20 July: Family Enclosure £7.50; Tattersalls £16; County Enclosure £22.  Students and senior citizens save up to £4 off admission.  Call 0844 579 3009 to book general admission – advance purchase qualifies for a 10% discount.  Accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge.  More information is at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk
