CLASSIC CAR AND MOTORCYCLE EVENT IN BRIGG CANCELLED: PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS

King Canute tried to hold back the waves. Now we've got to do what we can in Brigg to stem the communications juggernaut that is the internet.
The Brigg classic car and motorcycle event originally planned for Sunday, July 14 was cancelled some time ago and reported by us and being "off."
However, the way the internet works with people searching for information creates real difficulties when it comes to updating something that's already gone out. Especially if there's been a cancellation. So it's very likely that some folk will come to Brigg this weekend for the event. Hopefully, once in town, they will stay for a look round and maybe fuel up with refreshments.
The internet is a wonderful thing and does great things spreading the words. We do not wish to return to the days when Brigg events were publicised  to a limited number of locals through an advert in the Lincolnshire Times and signs pinned in shop windows.  But it was much easier back then to spread the word about cancellations and alterations.
