Brigg Town Council has received a letter of thanks from Buckingham Palace, having sent best wishes to Her Majesty The Queen on the 60th anniversary of her Coronation. Her Chief Clerk replied to say The Queen greatly appreciated the letter, extending best wishes to the council and the town.
As the correspondence was received at last night's Town Council meeting that began at 7am in the Angel Suite, everyone was blissfully unaware that Her Majesty was, by then, great grandmother to the latest addition to the Royal Family - the Duchess of Cambridge, the former Kate Middleton, having given birth to a bouncing baby boy just a couple of hours earlier. But the news had yet to break across the world.
