22 PICTURES OF THE BRIGG TRACTOR RUN 2020 IN AID OF LINDSEY LODGE HOSPICE

The Brigg Tractor Run 2020 - organised by the town's Young Farmers' Club - took place on Sunday (March 8) and raised funds for Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Scunthorpe.
It was good to see many vintage examples of farm machinery joining modern examples as they left the Ripon Farm Services depot on Westrum Lane and joined the A1084 Bigby High Road.
Thankfully for those driving older tractors without cabs, the weather was fine and sunny when they set off, although there was a stiff breeze.
The route took in Bigby, Barnetby, Elsham, Worlaby, Bonby, Saxby-All-Saints, Horkstow, Barton, Barrow, Thornton Curtis, Wootton, Croxton, Melton Ross, Wrawby and then back into town along Wrawby Road and Bigby Road to Westrum Lane.
A lunch stop was arranged in Barton, with the tractors returning to Brigg early in the afternoon.
Spectators of varying ages turned out to watch the cavalcade which set off a little later than planned, with horns sounding to alert approaching motorists.
This year's run was brought forward a week from March 15 - the original date - due to a forthcoming road closure while Network Rail replaces the traditional wooden gated crossing with a modern barrier version.

Our pictures show some of the initial batch of tractors setting off; there were more than this taking part in the run.
