Still playing hockey for Brigg as he approached his 61st birthday, Andrew 'Sass' Markham had a memorable match in the Yorkshire Cup.
Playing in goal from Brigg 3rds against Sheffield Bankers, he saved the first three penalty flicks taken to decide the winners after the tie had finished 2-2.
Brigg netted three flicks to see them through to the next round.
Andrew told Brigg Blog it's a highlight for him in a lengthy career between the posts.
We thinks a keeper saving three flicks is probably a unique achievement in the long history of the local hockey club, stretching back to 1920.
Andrew is very well-known as a local charity fundraiser for various worthy causes and has previously won the Joseph J. Magrath Award for Public Voluntary Service.
