It's been suggested that the closure of a national retailer's outlet in Brigg town centre has helped to reduce a problem.
Coun Deb Dunderdale, who represents Brigg Town Council on the Brigg & Wolds Neighbourhood Action Team which deals with policing and community issues, gave an update on NAT matters at the council's latest meeting in the Angel Suite.
She reported that the problem of traffic within the pedestrian area had "slightly eased" since the closure of the Greggs premises on Wrawby Street.
However, she added that the issue of vehicles being driven over the County Bridge, into the pedestrian zone, was still being looked at by the authorities.
Coun Dunderdale reported that overall crime had reduced in the Brigg area.
However, there was an issue with people drinking at various locations and smoking certain substances other than tobacco!
Sadly, Greggs' prominently-located premises remain empty since the store closed last November.
How long will it be before someone comes in to make use of the ground floor?
