SIGN THAT BRIGG LINE RAIL SERVICES ARE GROWING IN POPULARITY

FROM PAUL JOHNSON, BRIGG RAIL CAMPAIGNER

Paul Johnson, who is a tireless campaigner when it comes to attracting people to use the Saturday-only passenger trains along the Brigg line, has had the informative new sign (above) made to be placed on the bottom section of the Brigg totem sign at the beginning of Station Road, near the Hewson House offices of North Lincolnshire Council (see picture below).
He tells us: "Hopefully it will be seen by those who pass by."
Despite the efforts of Paul and other rail line supporters, and publicity afforded through Brigg Blog and other outlets, you can still talk to people in Brigg who are unaware the station receives trains on Saturdays, making possible day trips to places like Lincoln, Market Rasen, Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Gainsborough and even Sheffield  - at reasonable prices.
But it's not all one way traffic by any means.
Some people from North Nottinghamshire, West Lindsey and North East Lincolnshire are coming into Brigg - particularly when there are events like the monthly farmers' market, the riverside festival and the beer festival.
This being Saturday, we hope that Paul will be able to report good numbers using Brigg station today.
Fingers crossed!
