BRIGG REACH NATIONAL SEMI-FINALS

Congratulations go to Brigg Hockey Club whose men's first teamers have reached the semi-finals of England Hockey's national Vase competition.
They did so by beating Sefton, from Liverpool, 3-1 in a quarter-final played on the new "Blue Astro" pitch at Brigg Recreation Ground on Sunday (February 26).
The semi-finals are due to be played on March 19, with the final on April 29.
There was praise for the hockey club's cup run from Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley during Brigg Town Council's monthly meeting, held the day after the quarter-final.
Brigg Blog went down on Sunday to watch the early stages of the tie and was also pleased to see the new community room, on the edge of the changing room block, being used to serve refreshments to spectators.
