BRIGG FACILITY TO REOPEN AFTER REFURB

Refurbishment of a Brigg children's play area is now under way.
Coun Rob Waltham, pictured, revealed the timescale to fellow members of Brigg Town Council at Monday night's meeting in the Angel Suite.
Delivering the monthly report on behalf of himself and Couns Carl and Nigel Sherwood,  he said: "Work has started to complete the investment in the Donkey Park. Drainage works were started last year and halted due to bad weather. The schedule is for the park to reopen in the next month or so."
The park is situated between Atherton Way and Almond Grove.
Other items of note in the monthly report  from the three Brigg and Wolds representatives on North Lincolnshire Council included:
  • "Money has been allocated as part of the budget to install a traffic solution to improve the junction at Almond Grove and the Lidl entrance. Highways officers will be looking to circulate the proposals ready for the next Town Council meeting.
  • "The recreation ground is now open and operational following an official opening by Andrew Percy MP. The Mayor of Brigg was at the opening along with the Mayor of North Lincolnshire.
  • "New bins are to be installed on the Ancholme river bank; the bases have been installed and the bins should be fitted this week.
  • "New LED lights have been installed on Bridge Street and along the river path.
  • "Thanks to continued funding from North Lincolnshire Council, we are pleased to confirm that the Call Connect bus service will continue to support the Brigg Ward.
  • "Some more seats have been installed along Ancholme Valley Way, with new seats on the Castlethorpe to Brigg leg."
