MAJOR EVENT IN BRIGG TOMORROW

Tomorrow (Sunday, September 25) sees local group Lincsquad's Keyo Brigg Sprint Triathlon.
This involves competitors swimming 16 lengths of the Ancholme Leisure Centre pool, followed by 20km cycling on local roads and  then a 5km run.
The latter sections will take in Brigg, so there's an opportunity to go along to watch and encourage the entrants.
The cyclists will be heading south to Redbourne and Hibaldstow but Bridge Street, as far as the Tesco roundabout, forms part of the course.
The running section will take competitors from the leisure centre, along Bridge Street, through the Market Place and on towards Cadney. Then back again to Scawby Brook.
The swimming section start at 8am, to be followed by the cycling. The final competitor in the 5k run is expected to reach the leisure centre about 11.30pm.
If you want to watch the cycling, good locations are Bridge Street (near Peacock and Binnington).
A fine spot to watch the running is the beginning of the avenue of trees on Cadney Road, near the small white-painted bridge.
We suggest the best time to spectate is between 10am and 11am.
Lincsquad says results will be available on Sunday night through its website www.lincsquad.co.uk
Brigg company  Keyo - based on the Ancholme Business Park - is the event's main sponsor.
Brigg competitors include Matt Austin, Lucy Brundell, Richard Coleman, Claire Darbyshire, Criag Day, Dan Ellis, Phil Gibbs, Mark Goodlad, Aiden Grocock, Will Hartley, Martin Hickey, Neil Johnson, Sheehan Quirke, Lisa Schygiol, Darren Scutt, Victoria Smaller, Jane Taylor, Isabel Turkington, Arron Turnbull and Ash Turnbull.
Other competitors are drawn from across northern Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Hull and the East Riding, the Midlands and even Salisbury, in Wiltshire.
