20,000 WAYS TO GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS IN BRIGG

Brigg is set to be awash with colour early next year, in support of a worldwide health campaign.
Brigg Rotary Club hopes the 20,000 purple crocus bulbs it is making available will be snapped up and planted on public land, within areas owned by businesses and in domestic gardens.
Purple is a colour synonymous with the global campaign to eradicate polio, a disease still causing paralysis in some countries.
Purple dye is used to mark the finger of a child who has been immunised.
Brigg Rotary will soon be getting its supply of bulbs, to be planted during November to flower from February 2017.

Individuals, groups and businesses are welcome to apply from Brigg, Wrawby, Hibaldstow, Elsham, Scawby and Broughton.
Chris (PICTURED), who had a  family member affected by polio, said: “This is such a worthy cause. I am so pleased we are doing it.”
Microsoft boss Bill Gates has put generous match-funding in place, adding £2 to every £1 generated by selling a batch of bulbs.
