A sign appeared in the front window some days ago apologising for any inconvenience this may have caused.
"Thank you to all our customers over the last 14 years," it said.
The Hub shop was located at 57 Wrawby Street, adjoining the archway which leads customers to the Exchange Coach House Inn.
From the early 1950s until the mid-1980s, No 57 housed the Brigg offices of the Hull-based Lincolnshire Times weekly newspaper.
Back then the top floor provided storage, while the first floor had rooms for editorial staff and the advertising section.
On the ground floor was reception, with a fine array of black and white photographs always on display in the front window.
The only staff photographer, Coun Bryan Robins, had his desk and a darkroom on the ground floor.
Via the archway there was a extensive parking area at the back, with car port. This land was later acquired by the Exchange for its courtyard extension.
