Someone we spoke to recently remembered us taking her picture in the Lord Nelson that evening 16 years ago.

....and wot about the bookies!....the shops in Elwes St...the Chinese take-a ways...the pizza shop..the shop in Wrawby Rd..the Deli Diner..funeral directors..the car spares shop..the fruit-based detergent outlet in GSR South (now part of Brian's DIY)..barber shop near Wallheads..the pet shops...the health shop in College Yard....the shops around Old Courts Rd...ie the auctioneers...was Radley's Travel about at the time?....the old library (now Brigg Office Supplies)...the car body/respray shop near Tesco (redundant asbestos building still remains)..Spelman's lock-up; taxi office; Wendy's etc in Cary Lane..MP's office on corner..Barnard's butchers in Beige St....the fruit and veg shop (now Couriousiteas..is that the spelling?)............
As a purist, Nige....the Millennium actually started just after midnight on 1st January, 2001.....the year 2000 would give 999 years in a millennium...!!!
For those who can't get their heads around the above...try this..
You have a 100 boxes...number them 1 to 100.
Put them in batches of 10 keeping them in number order.
The first batch would be the boxes numbered 1 to 10...so the 2nd batch would be the boxes numbered what?
Transfer this notion to Centuries and Millenniums....remembering no year (like the boxes) was numbered '0'.
(also remembering that a year starts on 1st Jan and is complete only after 31 Dec)..
