BRIGG TO GET NEW HOME IN HISTORIC TOWN CENTRE

North Lincolnshire Council has given the go-ahead for the creation of additional living accommodation in Brigg town centre.
The council has granted planning permission and given listed building consent for the conversion of a flat into two flats, with internal alterations and the installation of a window to the west elevation.
The location is 8 Bigby Street - near, but NOT above, the Indian takeaway.
The successful applications were submitted by Manny Bhangu, of Scotter.
A report prepared by council planning staff described the property as a Grade II Listed Building located within Brigg Conservation Area, saying: "The property on the site frontage is a vacant hairdressers and then the building extends back northwards towards Wrawby Street."
The report added:  "The site is a sustainable location for a new dwelling as it is located within Brigg town centre and is close to a variety of public transport links."

It concluded: "The proposed alterations will have a minimal impact on the Listed Building."
There were no objections notified to planners from neighbouring properties, while Brigg Town Council supported the proposal.
