Also doing well is the Lincolnshire Minor Counties team, featured a few weeks ago on Brigg Blog when we made a Call Connect/Trans Pennine Express bus/train outing to Cleethorpes to watch one of their home games.
Lincs chairman Chris Keywood tell us that, for their final Unicorns Eastern Division match of the season, Lincolnshire will travel to Knypersley, near Stoke, to play Staffordshire "knowing that victory could ensure them as Eastern Division winners and have the opportunity to play the Western Division winners in their quest for the Championship."
Currently Lincs are in second position in the Eastern Division, two points behind Northumberland, who face Cambridgeshire in their final match at Jesmond.
With a maximum 24 points available, Lincs will be hoping to extend their record this season in which they have secured 24 points in three of their matches and 23 in another.
Their record of four wins and a draw is an outstanding one this season.
The three-day match at Knypersley commences on Sunday, 14th August (11am start).
