AFC BRIGG TO KICK OFF IN SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Scunthorpe Sunday Football League action involving Brigg team Gladiator - picture on Nigel Fisher's Brigg Blog

The start of the Scunthorpe and District Sunday Football League's 2016/17 season is not too far away.
AFC Brigg are in the first division and will play a Challenge Cup tie against Broughton WMC on September 11. AFC's home venue is Scawby Playing Field.
Wrawby team Jolly Miller will be playing in division four of the Sunday competition.
It's to be hoped that the revamp of Brigg Recreation Ground sees renewed interest in men's Sunday football  within the town. For we once had a very strong presence.
There's also a Scunthorpe Saturday League, in which Briggensians FC play (based at Sir John Nelthorpe School).
Fixtures are not yet available for 2016/17 so we will return to that topic at a later date.
Our picture, taken a few seasons ago, shows the Gladiator team from Brigg in Scunthorpe Sunday League action at The Rec.
