The railway footbridge in Brigg, dating back to the late 19th century, is expected to be demolished this week.
We took these pictures for posterity – before it was too late.
The iron footbridge dates back to an era of importance, when Brigg station was an important stop on the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway mainline.
Our station once boasted a roof, a fine range of buildings and even a newsagent’s kiosk!
The footbridge is the last of the old structures to go and ends a link with Victorian times.
Brigg station opened in the 1840s but now only sees a passenger service on Saturdays.
Freight trains pass through on other days of the week, though.

I'm putting my comments here re litter bins, Nige as neither the dog poo, nor the new litter bin postings allows comment.
Can you see a design problem with the new litter bin....and perhaps the newish existing bins about Brigg?
One of the biggest litter problems about the town are the abandoned pizza boxes and plastic cartons ....
1. Is the slot in the litter bin big enough to take a pizza box?
2. Considering the number of take-aways in the area, is it itself big enough?
3. Is it conspicuous enough.....chopping away on a pizza on a dark night, would one readily see a black litter bin?
My son and co live in Ludlow, Shropshire...a market town....they too have black neat bins...but these are supplemented by a couple large open topped wire cages in which a bright yellow plastic are attached on the inside. These cages ate emptied daily.....and while the neat black bins fill with lolly wrappers and tissue, the orange bins blossom with chip trays, pizza boxes, bottles....
