BRIGG DOG OWNERS BEWARE

Here are the monetary penalties set out for Brigg dog owners who get caught not cleaning up after their pets.
The good news is that new-style doggie poo bins are available, like the one photographed  below beside the Old River Ancholme towpath, close to the old Lidl store.
Rather than carry home with them through the streets see-through plastic bags full of doggy-do, the owners can plop the bags into the bin after exercising their animals.
It’s awful to see dog mess on the pavements and grass verges of Brigg, but also unpleasant to be walking through the streets, minding your own business (sorry!) only to be confronted by an approaching dog owner with a pile of fresh dog  poo steaming up the inside of a see-through bag.
Some of the owners seem to regard it as a proud achievement that they’ve bagged the deposits…and are happy to demonstrate the fact to all.
We would make a by-law that all dog-poo bags must  be black so you can’t see the contents plopping about inside!
In praise of the dog owning fraternity,  everyone will agree that you see far less doggie-do on paths today than you did 20 or 30 years ago.
Most Brigg dog owners are responsible and do clean up after their animals. But must some of them  advertise their efficiency quite so prominently ?
