WHERE SHOULD ADDITIONAL BRIGG SALT BINS GO IF COUNCIL DECIDES TO BUY SOME?

Brigg Town Councillor have been asked to consider streets that might benefit from the addition of salt bins.
Some are already provided so members of the public can take along their shovels and undertake a spot of spreading on paths during spells of snow and ice.
Examples of streets already provided with bins are Springbank, Glebe Road, Churchill Avenue and Almond Grove. But would the town benefit from having more?
Brigg Town Council's Property and Services Committee is considering that question.
It received a proposition from Coun Ann Eardley that the authority should buy and install a salt bin in the vicinity of Ash Grove.
Coun Eardley was not at last night's meeting in the Angel Suite Lounge, but it was suggested she had been approached by residents of that part of Brigg.
A decision was deferred until precise costs can be obtained.
Coun Jenny Bell rightly pointed out "You can't have one on every street" - but the Town Council MAY consider looking into getting some more.
Brigg Blog followers may recall from previous posts on our site that North Lincolnshire Council has been instrumental in assisting parishes across the district to have salt bins at key locations. The "grit salt" bin pictured above on Churchill Avenue carries a North Lincolnshire Council sticker on its lid.

There's an original yellow GRIT/SALT box just outside the entrance to Brigg TC at the rear of the Angel.
Before and throughout the snowy conditions, the box was devoid of salt.
I can't see an alternative salt box in the area of the Angel car-park...
