Brigg and Goole MP Andrew Percy is said to be still awaiting a reply from Network Rail in response to residents' concerns about noisy freight trains passing their homes.
Brigg Town Council was approached some time ago about the issue and the North Lincolnshire authority and Mr Percy were also made aware. A meeting then took place between the rail firm, the MP and councillors.
Giving an update to Monday's Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite, Coun Rob Waltham, who is also a Cabinet member of the North Lincolnshire authority, said Andrew Percy was still awaiting a response "in writing" from Network Rail.
Coun Mike Campion wondered whether the emergency closure of the Doncaster to Scunthorpe railway line some weeks ago had resulted in a rise in freight trains being re-routed through Brigg,
Town Mayor Councillor Carl Sherwood replied that he had not noted a significant increase.
