I'm going to stand corrected if the old memory is playing tricks, but in the days of Brigg Urban District Council wasn't every effort made to clear up the leaves on the footpaths at this time of year? Several walks round town in the past week or two have involved ploughing through deep accumulations. When wet, of course, they can be slippery underfoot. And in these days of "elf and safety"... Well, you can guess the rest.
This is the price we have to pay, every autumn, for having some nice, mature trees in Brigg.

If you leave the leaves where they are they could quickly become ASH!!!!
If you clear away snow from your paths you are liable if anyone susequently slips on the path . Does the same apply to leaves ?? Maybe the council have taken the advice of the Elf and Safetey gurus .
I will ring claims Direct to see where I stand ( or not as the case may be ) .
