A well-known Brigg town centre business closed its doors for the final time exactly 12 years ago. Did you used to be a customer?
December 15, 2007 saw the demise of Brigg Photolabs, on Wrawby Street, due to retirement.
Brigg Blog said at the time that this shop had provided a photographic processing and printing service since the early 1980s, in addition to 'instant' pictures for local people's passports.
"Many would agree they have offered good old-fashioned, courteous service to their customers," was one of our comments.
Years earlier we had written the 'copy' that accompanied an advertising feature in the Lincolnshire Times when Photolabs opened.
Many reporting assignments with the Times involved driving considerable distances, but in this case only a short walk was required to the other side of Wrawby Street from the paper's offices at No. 57.
In mid-December 2007 the Photolabs property carried a Bell Watson 'To Let' sign and was seeking a new tenant.
The age of digital photography had arrived by then and Brigg Blog took this picture on such a camera.
In December 2007, Brigg Blog had only been operating for three months and this was one of our earliest business stories.
