A very late goal earned Brigg Town Football Club an away point in ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One yesterday (Saturday, December 7).
Joe Smithson was on the mark in the 90th minute as the Zebras drew 1-1 in Hull against Hall Road Rangers. Brigg are 14th in the table with six sides below them, including Hall Road.
At the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) Brigg Town Reserves beat Nettleham 3-1 yesterday in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier. Brigg are currently seventh in this 13-team competition.
At nearby Brigg Recreation Ground, Briggensians were in action in an EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Johnstone Insurance Nursing Cup quarter-final. However, the Brigg side went down 4-3 to The Butchers Arms - after extra time. Briggensians' scorers were Sol Hari, Andy Thirwall and Justin Walker.
Having established a good lead, Barnetby United went down 5-3 in Scunthorpe to Crosby Colts in a T.S.W. Printers Sporting Shield semi-final. Barnetby's scorers were Brendan O’Callaghan, Will Forest, Will Watson.
Barnetby United Reserves drew 1-1 at home to Ashby Bowl in Division Two. Martin Lestak scored for the second-in-the-table villagers at their Silver Street venue.
