CHANGES EARMARKED FOR LISTED BUILDING IN BRIGG ARE REJECTED

Planned changes outlined for a listed building in Brigg town centre have been rejected by North Lincolnshire Council.
Permission was sought to install replacement windows in a first floor flat at 5 Bigby Street - directly opposite the Dying Gladiator pub.
However, council planners objected to what was proposed for the building, pictured here, and declined to give listed building consent.
An officer involved with conservation said double-glazed windows were inappropriate for a listed building.
Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee - meeting in the Angel Suite on Monday night - was informed of the North Lincolnshire authority's decision on 5 Bigby Street.
