BRIGG IS ON THE BALL TODAY AS CHRISTMAS DRAWS NEAR
If you are out and about in Brigg town centre this morning (Saturday, December 21) don't be surprised to see a number of people wearing claret and blue attire.
They will be Scunthorpe United supporters stopping off for refreshments prior to the big derby match at Grimsby Town which kicks off at Blundell Park at 1pm.
Today sees December's Brigg Farmers' Market - organised by North Lincolnshire Council - open for business from 9am.
Stalls on the Saturday general market will also be helping local folk stock up on tasty items for Christmas. A well-known chef will be giving demonstrations at the farmers' market, as an added attraction.
There's football to watch this afternoon at the Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road, where Briggensians will be hosting New Holland Villa in EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division Two (2pm KO).
Brigg Town FC first teamers are in Nottinghamshire today, meeting Ollerton Town in ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One.
Please note there is NO first team league fixture coming up at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) on Boxing Day (Thursday).
Tonight (Saturday) there's plenty of live music on offer in Brigg pubs if you are planning to be out and about. View details here...
Just a reminder... The Brigg Town Carol Concert is being held tomorrow (Sunday, December 22) at St John's Church, from 2pm. All welcome.
11am Saturday update: Brigg Town's game at Ollerton postponed this morning due to waterlogged pitch.
