ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS... A BRIGG TRAIN SET

We'll call this an early Christmas wish... Brigg Blog, and many others who use and support the Saturdays-only trains serving our town, are hoping for something better this weekend.
The operator only has to run six trains a week between Sheffield and Cleethorpes via Brigg, Kirton Lindsey and Barnetby - three in each direction.
But staff shortages have resulted in a number of cancellations to this sparse service over recent weeks with replacement buses (and at least one taxi) used as substitutes.

We were among the passengers affected - finding the last Saturday train of the day back to Brigg from Barnetby wasn't running.
Over recent years, some private individuals who support public transport, and particularly railways, have put a great deal of time and effort into promoting greater use of the Brigg line's Saturday passenger service.
But if people decide to take the train, they expect to travel on one - not by bus or a taxi!
