WELCOME BRIGG TIMETABLE ALTERATION

There's a change to the train timetable for passenger services calling at Brigg station from this Saturday December 21.
The first train of the day will now arrive earlier, at 9.16am, allowing passengers more leeway to catch the 9.39am connection at Barnetby for Market Rasen, Lincoln and Newark.
This will apply every Saturday until next spring.
A few weeks ago we caught the early morning service, pictured above, but also noted that Brigg railway station appeared to have been used for drinking sessions.
Empty bottles of spirits were evident in the shelter provided for passengers on platform one.
Thrown onto, and littering, the track were cardboard boxes that once contained cans of cider, plus various  empty beer and cider cans.
Those responsible will have walked past a litter bin provided on the platform when they left the station!
Although Brigg only receives passenger services on Saturdays, some freight trains operate at other times of the week. So, for safety reasons, railway company workers need to be sent to Brigg to clear litter from the lines. Public-spirited locals can't do this job themselves.
