CAN BRIGG ADD MORE 'DOUBLE DRAW' SATURDAYS?

We dubbed last Saturday a double draw for visitors to Brigg - the monthly farmers' market being accompanied by the riverside festival.
Hundreds of people were drawn into  town by these attractions.
So is having two events at the same time the way forward?
Every farmers' market Saturday, can Brigg come up with another attraction operating in tandem with the popular produce provider?
How about a signposted circular tour of pubs for real ale devotees?
What about a pageant tracing the history of the market back to the granting of the royal charter in the 13th century?
Could we have a Saturday devoted to Brigg sports? Brigg Town Football Club, the cricket club and Ancholme Rowing Club were all founded when Queen Victoria was on the throne and have interesting histories which would merit a Heritage Centre exhibition.
We once visited the market town of Settle on a train excursion. When passengers stepped onto the platform we were greeted by a band and were then led into the town centre where many shops soon saw a rise in takings.
Now The Friends of the Brigg Line are reporting increasing numbers of passengers from North Notts taking a Saturday morning train to our town, would it be worth greeting the very welcome new arrivals and guiding them to the shops and market?
