GENERAL ELECTION 2017: VOTING IN BRIGG & GOOLE TODAY

North Lincolnshire Council, which will be administering general election voting in Brigg today, has issued some good advice through one of the major social media networks.
"Did you know that you don't need your poll card to vote?" it says.
"Just turn up at your designated poll station and tell the clerk your name. You can vote between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 8 June 2017. "
Good to know.
Brigg Blog has always been non-political. Hence the absence of  coverage leading up to the general election.
We have seen Brigg & Goole constituency candidates from different parties in Brigg over recent weeks but have kept the camera in our pocket.
The only advice we are going to give is that everyone  who is eligible to vote should consider exercising their democratic right and visit their designated polling station.
The same goes for Brigg Blog followers who live in other constituencies.
Once polls close at 10pm the ballot boxes will be taken to The Pods leisure centre in Scunthorpe, where the count will be undertaken.
Declarations are expected around 4am and 5am on Friday 9 June.
Denise Hyde, Head of Paid Service and Executive Director, People and Transformation at North Lincolnshire Council, is the Returning Officer.
8am UPDATE: Heavy early morning rain in the area will not have helped the turn out to vote.
