OBJECTION VOICED TO ADVERT SIGNS ON BRIGG MONUMENT ROUNDABOUT

Brigg Town Council is objecting to a Yorkshire company's  advertisement consent application for permission to display signs on the perimeters of the A18 Monument roundabout in Brigg.
North Lincolnshire Council planners will now decide whether to give approval or refuse the application.
Concerns were expressed during a Brigg Town Council  Planning & Environment Committee meeting held on Monday night in the Angel Suite.
Chairman Coun Mike Storey said the Monument was a war memorial with listed building status. What was suggested would be inappropriate.
A blanket application has been made seeking advert consent for signs on various roundabouts in North Lincolnshire, including ones in Elsham and Barnetby.
■ At the start of Monday's meeting, Coun Storey was re-elected as chairman of the Town Council's planning committe for a further 12 months, with Coun Donald Campbell re-elected as vice-chairman.
