BRIGG MAN AWARDED HONOUR DURING GREAT YEAR FOR THE FAMILY

Belated Brigg Blog congratulations to Coun Rob Waltham who has been awarded the MBE for services to local government in North Lincolnshire.
Raised and educated in Brigg, he was promoted to the top post - leader of North Lincolnshire Council - just a few months ago, having been deputy leader to Baroness Redfern for some time.
He lives in Brigg and is a member of our Town Council in addition to being a Brigg & Wolds Ward councillor on the North Lincs unitary authority.
Rob's sister, Coun Sharon Riggall, was recently elected Brigg Town Mayor to serve until next May.
How proud their dad, Wally, of Hawthorn Avenue, would have been if he was still with us today.
Brigg Town Council's June meeting next Monday will give many people an opportunity to congratulate Coun Rob in person.
Hopefully we will see him about the town before then.
Many will be keen to learn when he will be invited down to London to receive his medal.
