Plans have been drawn up to create new flats close to Brigg town centre.
Outline planning permission is being sought to erect two three-storey flats, with parking at ground floor level, on land at the southern end of West Terrace, off Bridge Street.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering the application.
Information submitted to planners says the housing development will greatly improve the visual amenity of the area, the land currently being used for parking.
The statement adds that development will provide much-needed affordable housing.
