D-DAY FOR PUB IN BRIGG & WOLDS WARD WHICH COULD BE REPLACED BY NEW HOMES

Today is D-Day for a pub in North Lincolnshire Council's Brigg and Wolds Ward which is threatened with demolition.
Permission is being sought to build new housing on the site of The Haymaker on Main Street in Bonby.
However, Bonby Parish Council and various other objectors are suggesting the now disused pub should be retained and not permanently lost to the community.
North Lincolnshire Council's Planning Committee, chaired by Brigg & Wolds' Coun Nigel Sherwood, will hold a virtual meeting this afternoon (Tuesday, May 12) from 2pm.
Elected councillors will consider the Bonby application and a number of others relating to other areas of North Lincolnshire.
Council planning staff are recommending that the committee refuses permission for six semi-detached homes on the pub site following the demolition of buildings.
However, the committee will make the decision on a pub that was listed as an asset of community value in January this year.
Bonby is a sought-after place to live and one of interest to house hunters searching for new properties.
The Haymaker-based restaurant business moved to Elsham Golf Club some months ago.
